Removes File Permanently: FileKiller is a portable open source software that removes files and its traces permanently from the hard disk. A regular file deleting process keeps the trace of the file and can be recovered within a time period by using Data Recovery Software. FileKiller works as a secure file shredder, which makes impossible to recover the file even with a Data Recovery Software.
To remove file permanently FileKiller overwrites any deleted file with blanks or random data N times - where N is given by the user. It gives user to choose the number of overwrite iterations (1 to 100) and overwrite method using blanks or random data. FileKiller also provides the overwrite method of using a user defined ascii character.
